Favorite Photo
I took the students on a walk last Friday with the goal to take photos that they were drawn to and attracted to. One of my photos was that of an abandoned building, but what really drew me to it was the door with the vine growing diagonal across it. In addition, the texture from the wooden door, the peeling paint, and the vine show long it's been untouched by human hands. It makes me wonder why it is abandoned, what it was used for, and how long will it remain standing. Also, I love the colors in the photo; the light blue contrasts with the tan drawing the eye into the photo. For some reason, abandoned buildings are interesting to me. I would love to know the history of them; plus, my mind wonders whether they are haunted or not. Lots of stories could be written using the door

Like everyone else, I have several layers. There is the outside layer that people see. If I don't know you, I'm probably not going to seem very friendly. It takes me a while to warm up to people; I like to sit back and observe before deciding if I want to waste my time on getting to know them. Friendships require a lot of energy and time, and since I'm still teaching, I don't have a lot left over for that right now. I have two really good friends that I haven't seen in a year, and they live about 30 minutes away from me. Honestly, I would rather spend time with my grandchildren in Milwaukee, especially since Mariana is a junior in high school. Time seems to be flying by and before I know it, she'll be in college, living her own life.
If I know you, I'm pretty open and amicable. I show lots of enthusiasm and am passionate about several things such as photography, tennis, going to my grandchildren's events, reading, and traveling. In addition, I'm passionate about teaching and about my students. I love coming to school most days (everyone has an off day or two) and each student I teach is important to me. This past summer I visited England and Costa Rica. My dream place to stay for a month in the summer is definitely on the Cornwall Coast in England. The weather hovered in the sixties and while there were days that were cloudy, there were also days where the sun shone and ocean shimmered. I love the quaint villages up and down the coast where stone houses stand tall, narrow roads wind around the cliffs, and colorful wildflowers grow among the cracks in the walls. It is truly a beautiful place.I will post some photos.
